UWEBC Announces Two New Supply Chain Management Peer Groups

Lori Wilson | UWEBC Marketing & Communications Manager

The UWEBC’s Supply Chain Management Peer Group is a dynamic, diverse group. With backgrounds that vary from sourcing and procurement to distribution and transportation, our members in this group have wide-ranging job responsibilities. In fact, many procurement professionals may never cross paths with logistics counterparts, although they all are called ‘supply chain management.’

“I found that the vast majority of our members’ jobs did not cross certain lines,” said Wayne Thompson, Supply Chain Management Practice Director. “We want to better reflect their day-to-day responsibilites, giving them applicable, actionable solutions that will positon them for excellence. ”

With this in mind, the UWEBC is splitting its long-standing Supply Chain Management Peer Group into two new peer groups:

The two new peer groups will feature events with tailored content, speakers and tools. With two distinct groups, the UWEBC can provide a more customized experience to supply chain professionals in our member companies.

“The UWEBC staff is excited to really ramp up the member experience in 2017,” said Raj Veeramani, UWEBC Executive Director. “We have been focused on providing our members with highly relevant and valuable offerings to engage in collaborative learning, and this targeted approach helps us accomplish just that in UWEBC’s supply chain management focus area.”

As an added bonus, Supply Chain Management members can look forward to cleaner inboxes. By updating communication preferences, members can choose to receive content for one or both peer groups.

In addition to events for both peer groups, the UWEBC will still host events on more general supply chain subjects, such as staffing and recruitment, sustainability and finance. Any member signed up for either Peer Group will receive invitations to these events.

The Supply Chain Management focus area will also continue to host Special Interest Groups (also known as SIGs) that thoroughly explore one topic.

If you have not selected which Peer Group you want to join, you will receive emails for both. To update your subscription settings, sign in above, click on "My Account" and edit your subscriptions under "Email Communication Management Center."
